Intellectual Disability (or Mental Retardation) is a neurodevelopmental disorder where a child’s capacity to think is below average and there are some functional skills gaps in daily living. It is much more than learning at a slower pace. It is overcoming difficulties in communicating, problem-solving, and living independently.
